Placentia Homes: What to Expect
The first center of the Valencia orange industry, Placentia is one of many communities that were once rich farmland that produced avocado, citrus, walnut and grape crops. It was incorporated in 1926 as a charter city - a city established under its own laws rather than the laws of the state. You can still see the remnants of the early California orange plantations at the Historic George Key Ranch, where you and your family can explore the memorabilia of the heyday of the great orange grove ranches.
Farming still goes on in the area, but Placentia has grown far beyond its origins as a railroad and farming town. Currently, Placentia is home to 45,000 people. Suburban life is alive and well in this laid-back California city. Crime is almost half of the U.S. average. Placentia schools are top-rated, with exceptional special-needs programs and support.
Placentia is largely a commuter town for people working in the Los Angeles area. Placentia lies on the conjuntion of 91 Freeway and the 57 Freeway. With easy access to major arterial routes and less than 40 miles away, Placentia homes are a very easy distance from L.A. The close proximity to L.A. and the surrounding cities of Anaheim, Brea, Yorba Linda, Fullerton and La Habra presents the enterprising homeowner with advantageous career possibilities.
Real estate in Placentia spans the decades from turn-of-the-century homes valued at over $1 million to condos valued at around 250,000. There are a number of elegant, remodeled historic homes in Placentia that lend a touch of history to modern living. Placentia condos don't lack for space or luxury, either. There are cozy condos, yes, but many of Placentia's luxury condos boast as much floor space as a spacious single-family home, with the added bonus of no yard work.
Placentia is just as the name describes: pleasant. It's a great place to relax after a day at work or to raise the kids. With so many educational and career opportunities abounding in Placentia, homes here are definitely properties to consider.
